The new power supply for the 1541-II and 1581 floppy drives is here!
(also compatible with the C65 if you have one.)
This power supply delivers low-ripple power to the 1541-II and 1581 disk drives. Why is low ripple important, you might ask? Floppy disk drives contain analogue circuits, which can malfunction if the power source isn't absolutely "clean". If you experience read errors on known-good disks, you may not have a defective floppy drive, but just a power supply at the end of it's service life.
This power supply is a two-part solution: A tried-and-true 12V/2A power supply with international adapters (already known to our customers as "the Adpator" due to the typo of our graphics designer) and a converter that's plugged directly to the floppy drive. This eliminates cable losses on the 5V rail, because there is no cable between the converter and the floppy drive.
